October 21, 2011 By: Lynn Category: Health, National News, Our Children

Health Update on Chinese Baby Wang  Yue (Yueyue) Yianmei; the two year old victim that was in a hit and run by two delivery truck drivers and left for dead as 18 people pass her by on the street outside of her house has passed away today at the hospital in her community of Guangzhou Foshan China.  Click here to see full story and YouTube video of what happened.

What a sad day it is for the family, friends and anyone that has invested their time into this story.  This poor little Yueyue’s life was cut too short.  She had so much life and growth to give, but it has been taken away over this tragic story.  I personally can’t imagine this happening to my children; I try not to.  The one thing that we all know coming into this world is that one day we are going to die,but hopefully it has been a fulfilling life.  I am sure that baby Yueyue gave her parents SO much joy.

To Yueyue’s parents, I hope that some day you can find some closure, to the truck drivers, I hope that you can find some peace and solitude.  For all of us that have taken this story in and been shocked by the outcome, I hope that we can all come out of this with a little bit of awareness and a lot more compassion.

May you rest in peace beautiful girl.  We will all carry a piece of you with us whenever we embrace our own loved ones.

Chinese Baby Girl Yueyue 2 Years Old, Hit By Two Trucks And Left To Die While 18 People Walk By

October 20, 2011 By: Lynn Category: Family, National News, Our Children

A Chinese baby girl named Wang (Yueyue) Yianmei; two years old was hit by two delivery trucks on Thursday, October 13, 2011 in Guangzhou Foshan China and left to die as 18 observers walk on.   See You Tube Video below of the little girl being hit twice as passerbuyers continue on their way.

This is a news story that shocked me as I saw this on one of my Facebook Friends status updates.  He is currently living in Japan and says that thoughtlessness, such as below, is an everyday occurrence.  Where their population is so high, and girls are so diminished that this wasn’t even an afterthought for the 18 people that walked by this poor little girl.

Yueyue’s mother did what so many mothers do; turned her head for a split moment while doing laundry.  As a parent, we know that toddlers can move and because they are such busy bodies, she found a crack in her safety system and went out the door.  One second, one split second and their world can come crashing down.  For this family on this 13th day of October, their world came crashing down.

As the 19th person  an elderly trash collector named Chen Yianmei came upon the scene to assist baby Yue yue by pulling this visibly broken child.

To date baby Yue yue is deep coma and on life support in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.

So why didn’t any of these citizens stop to help this innocent little girl?  Many of Chinese public said that because so many people are accused of hurting the elderly, when they are really trying to help, it has desensitized their common sense to help people.  They feel as though they have, “lost their faith in human nature.”  And that is why a lot of empathy and lack of morals are overshadowed.

The second truck driver was found and arrested, but were unable to get the license plate of the first delivery truck.  Police asked for the public’s assistance, so this prompted the driver to call Yueyue’s father and said that he would not turn himself in, but would give the family money.  The driver also explained to Mr. Yianmei that he was planning on leaving his wife and children, to go into hiding for the rest of his life as a punishment.  He would then make less money from jobs out of the city. This First driver was then found and arrested October 17th.

This is such a sad and unfortunate story.  I hope that you give your child or someone you love an extra hug today and remember that this CAN happen to anyone.  It takes on second, one moment of attention being placed at the wrong time.  This family are paying the price for that now.  Let’s hold this family up in Prayer.  Light a candle, sit quietly and meditate.  Thank the Lord that it isn’t your family in turmoil right now.

How do you reflect?  Do you think that these truck drivers will ever really feel any empathy or remorse with this preventable situation?
