Lending Money Out, I Need To Learn To Say No

August 28, 2011 By: Lynn Category: Bad Habits, Discipline, Feelings, Frustrated, My Husband, My Views

I have a BIG problem!!  I am the one and only  person that I know to sabotage my own happiness.  I let people walk all over me not intentionally and in turn I get hurt and it’s no-body’s fault but my own.  I lend money out, and I need to learn to say no.  Do you have a problem saying no to people?

My husband is always saying that I have a lot of bark at home but no bite with my friends or family.  On a regular basis whether I am busy or can’t do something, I seem to always find ways to rearrange my time and schedule to help someone in need;  in turn always get screwed over in the end.

Have you ever loaned someone money when you really don’t have enough to loan and are promised the money back in a speeding time and then either never get it back or there are 100 and 1 reasons that they just can’t get it back to you until next pay then you still don’t get it.   Or they forget to pay you back?  Who forgets to pay somebody back money?  Makes no sense, but that is what happens to me.  And I have no courage to ask for the money back, because in my mind they don’t need the extra stress on there shoulders of me asking for my money back.  I just don’t want to cause anyone distress.  Yet, it causes me all the stress in the world.

I am maternity leave right now, and anyone that has been on unemployment insurance know that you hardly make any money, so it’s harder budgeting and in turn extra money kicking around isn’t in the books.  But I still seem to help people.  And for every $20-$100 dollars that I’ve got floating around out there is another dollar that I would have to enjoy time with my children or buy the essentials of life.

Do you have anyone out there that owes you money?  How would you resolve the situation without looking like you are broke and need the money back or making the borrower feel stressed about giving you the money back that they may not have?  I need your help!

How Do Argue Safely?

January 21, 2010 By: Lynn Category: Bad Habits, Feelings, Marriage, My Husband, Relationships

Everyday, that’s right everyday, my husband and I engage in verbal diarrhea.  We are two VERY stubborn people who really do not agree on very much.  We have separate opinions on everything.  If he says red, than I am saying green.  If he is hot, I am cold.  This issue grows old very fast.  It’s hard living a life of arguments.

The way we argue is not very healthy either.  We name call, hash up old events and yes sometimes, well most of the time curse each other out.  Neither of us will allow the other to even feel for a minute that they have won the fight.  It’s not even about winning though, we are not fair when we fight.

We both know that our approach is not good nor sound.  We can’t even help ourselves.  Once he starts on me I become completely defensive.  I don’t like feeling attacked, who does.

He verbalizes that I make him feel unworthy, irrelevant.  And I feel like he does things wrong to intentionally get me stirred up enough that I will tell him to forget about whatever he is doing, so that I have to take over.

So then the cycle continues, because I take it as laziness.  What can we do?  If we could get away with just getting along, people might not know who we are.

Do you know a couple that don’t see eye to eye?  Do you yourself have any constructive criticism that maybe my husband and I can try?  Anything is a help.

Sauce On The Shirt

October 12, 2009 By: Lynn Category: Bad Habits, Frustrated, My Husband, Simple Humour, So Embarassing

I’m not sure what the problem is but every time my husband eats something he gets the sauce on his shirt.

I made spaghetti for supper and it doesn’t fail, my husband seems to always miss his mouth (which is odd in and of its self) every time and gets the food on his shirt.  It is entertaining and annoying at the same time.  I feel like I always have to clean up after him.

We could be going though the drive through and he will get ketchup on himself, or a hot dog, mustard, or I make steak and potatoes, he will get HP sauce on his shirt.  Strange right.  He has enough to say, how can he possibly miss his mouth.

Really it is at the point that we don’t even eat out on public anymore, I’m pretty sure that they don’t serve bibs big enough.  Our daughter is cleaner then he is for goodness sakes.

Do you have any funny stories about your significant other?  And the well known attacking sauce!!  Because it never seems to be them.  :0)
