Pet Peeves

October 07, 2009 By: Lynn Category: Annoying Traits, Bad Habits, Discipline, Feelings, Pet Peeves

I have sooooo many pet peeves!  I find that when I am being approached with a pet peeve, my husband is usually at the surface of them.

Laundry my way~I ask my husband to do the laundry, well to you and I this consists of SEPERATING the clothes, than taking them to the washer, putting them on the proper cycle, putting them in the dryer, bringing them to the appropriate place, folding them, separating them, yes again, and then putting them away.  That is the way a normal person would do laundry, well here is the way my husband does laundry.

Laundry my husbands way~grabbing whatever is around, putting them in the washer, putting them in the dryer and he hopes that he can leave it in the drier for a couple of days (that way he doesn’t have to go to the basement to bring them up).  Finishing up he brings the laundry up and throws the clothes in a pile on the couch.  THE END.

In my eyes he really hasn’t done anything….the washer and dryer did the work, he didn’t separate them, and yes, now the dark clothes now have white towel lint all over them.  He didn’t fold them, so they are full of wrinkles, and to put them away, that’s a joke because they are just going to be thrown in a pile when he takes them off.

Dishes my way~Filling the dishwasher with everything small so that there will be more room on the counter top and hand washing the pots and pans.  Washing the counters and stove.  That’s it, I don’t think that this is asking a lot.  I don’t even expect the dishes to be dried,  just wash all of them.

Dishes my husbands way~Filling the dishwasher with pots and pans so that he can say that he can’t do anything else until the load in the dishwasher is done (oh, but he doesn’t turn the dishwasher on).  THE END.

When I ask him, “well, why didn’t you put all the small dishes in the dishwasher and wash all the pots and pans?”  He responds, “I don’t do pots and pans,”  or “I don’t do silverware!!”  So you are telling me that the dishwasher only does glasses and plates?!  Well if he doesn’t do pots and pans and he doesn’t do silverware, then guess who has to do it…….

Why is it so hard to rinse the sink after he shaves?  It would look like a war if we shaved our legs in the sink and didn’t rinse it.  So why is it so hard, the water is right there, it’s the 2000’s he doesn’t have to go to the well to fetch water.  It’s right there….it’s free!!!

NOT our sink. Sorry to whoever posted this picture somewhere and I found it on google images

Gross eh!!  Or there is this one…….

Also NOT our sink. You don't think I'd really show you our nasty sink, do you?

These aren’t my photo’s but this is a very accurate image of what happens in my bathroom sink.  And in some instances it is worse.  Most of the time there is hair on the wall as well.  Come on!  Really.

Putting Garbage in the garbage can, that seems pretty straight forward right, well here, it is a task and a half.  He seems to have an arm extension problem when it comes to simply putting the garbage in the garbage can.  He could be shelling eggs and the garbage can is right next to him, he would rather just put it on the counter, sink, or in a pot, and we definitely know that he doesn’t wash pots and pans. lol

Just get off your computer and help me please, “I will be there in a minute.”  An hour later…….I am sure we are familiar with this trend.

Isn’t just easier to do it ourselves sometimes?

You’re not single anymore, don’t put the body pillow between us while we are sleeping.  Spoon me dammit!!  If your body is taking up half of the bed and now your body pillow is taking up an other quarter…..that doesn’t leave much room for me and your daughter that hops into bed every morning.

These are just a miniscule amount of pet peeves I have with my husband…… tell me what yours are!  Is there anything that your significant other does that drives you crazy?

  1. Holy shit! You weren’t kidding! Maybe our husbands are twins that were separated at birth! I am laughing hysterically, because you described my husband completely! He almost NEVER folds laundry. In fact, right at this very moment there is a pile of clean laundry he dumped in the closet and a load that been in the dryer for two days. My hubby also never quite makes it to the destination when he’s putting something away. EX: Today my daughter found a book that has fold out parts and she started shredding them. Hubby caught her, took the book away and set it 3 feet from where she was on the end table. As soon as he left the room, she must have picked it up, because I hear suspicious noises and upon checking on her she had shredded the ENTIRE book. If he had taken two more steps, he could have put it out of her reach, but NNOOOO, that would be too much effort!

  3. HaHa, I do enjoy that comment Trina…….some women shave their legs once a day, some once a week, well I am once a season kind of girl, and wouldn’t that sink be much like a massacre!!

  4. Maybe as women we should try shaving our legs in the sink and leaving it, I really think that might make some kind of statement?
